nyc.

hello! today i wanted to share with you photos from my nyc trip. i spent almost two weeks in this amazing city that truly never sleeps. the first days i was with my sister, and after that i was by myself. after that i flew to london and scotland (post on those coming soon!).

i hope you enjoy what i’m about to show you, since i very much enjoyed this visit to the big apple.

DAY 1

midtown

st. patrick’s

our first day we walked around midtown (where we were staying). because of my not-so-good packing skills, we missed our early flight, thus delaying our arrival. but i was so nervous cuz i didn’t know what to pack for a whole month in london too! nyc greeted us with a cold and rainy day. it was beautiful.

DAY 2

the rockefeller building.

top of the rock.

my sister ^

top of the rock had to be my favorite observatory in nyc. i had never been, but i am so glad my sister suggested it. you get views no other skyscraper can beat! and also, to say you were actually inside that iconic building– so surreal!

grand central station

shake shack

for me, a lot of things don’t live up to their hype, but shake shack, my lord, you were delicious and surpassed it.

DAY 3

the smith

moma

ellen’s stardust diner

like i said before, my sister and i were alone exploring, but our mother, younger sister, and their friends had gone as an 8th grade graduation trip, so they were also there. we met with them at ellen’s, a 50s themed restaurant where the waiters sing. normally i would find a place like that annoying, but it was actually all right. i even sang along!

DAY 4

bubby’s – tribeca

this place had the best pancakes i’ve ever tried, ever. i was really, really sad i didn’t go a second time. they’re very pricy, but very worth it. i ordered the blueberry ones. besides the place looking extremely cozy and cute, we sat behind two celebrities. one of them being kendall jenner. my sister was dying, but i was too focused on the pancakes. priorities, am i right! haha

i need to remember to take photos of myself. my sister surprised me with this one.

911 museum

this was such a sad museum to visit. i saw several people crying. but don’t get me wrong, it was a very good museum. as you walk it tells the story of what happened that day, in a respectful way to those who passed.

one world observatory

this is the view from the new world trace center. i’m so honored i got the chance to experience it because of all the work that went into it (although anyone can get in with a ticket, really), but…can i keep it real? i didn’t love it. i think the price was not worth it. there were a lot of tourists flighting for the best window to get a picture from; the glass was full of finger and forehead prints; the views, in my opinion, are not as breath-taking as the other two observatories we visited. i think it took us longer to get in, than the time we were there.

i’m still very happy about the photos i got though, and i’m thankful that i even get to have adventures like this!

brooklyn bridge

when we visited, the bridge had just turned 134 years old, so obviously we had to go congratulate it and, for the first time, cross it.

do not be fooled by our smiling faces though! the hot sun made it a little tough to cross. at the moment i kinda wish i knew how to ride a bike… but if new yorkers walk everywhere, then so will we! (except for the times we got uber, oops.)

dumbo

we found this pretty park after eating at juliana’s pizza. it was so so nice after a very long day of just walking to sit down and see families having picnics, people reading, and even a wedding!

jane’s carousel

the manhattan bridge

i am so happy i got this shot, because for a long time i was jealous of people being able to photograph such iconic beauty. dreams do come true!

DAY 5

american museum of natural history

a classic. one tip i have for you, go to the museum, spend all day there, once you get out, go eat at the shake shack behind it! and if there’s no space to sit, take it to central park!

the dakota

such a legendary place..

central park

strawberry fields

upper west side

new york sunsets are the best sunsets.

DAY 6

wicked

i really don’t enjoy musicals, but my sister said we couldn’t leave nyc without going to a play, so we went to see wicked. i actually really liked it. the actresses did an amazing job!

capizzi’s

i’m pretty sure the waiters hated us for being such a big group. sorry.. we met up with everyone once more for a last dinner. and yeah, that pizza was delicious!

empire state builiding

when we arrived at nyc, we purchased tickets for the things we wanted to see. one of those was the empire state building’s observatory. the night before my sister left, we remembered we still hadn’t used our tickets, so we decided to go. it was 11pm, but thankfully it is open until 2am! it was so nice to see the city at night. and the staff was so kind. we also forgot we had purchased vip until we redeemed our tickets. made us feel like a queen. p.s: don’t wear a dress on a windy day up there.

DAY 7

new york public library

upper west side

i was initially staying in midtown east with my sister, but once she left i moved to a cheaper hotel on the upper west side.

DAY 8

chelsea market

los tacos no. 1

i wish i could show you a photo of my tacos, but they were so good i devoured them before i remembered to do so. oops. take it from a mexican, these are authentic tacos. the owner is super nice and attentive. he even gave me a free quesadilla <3 but everything else in the chelsea market looked amazing. i could spend a whole day there.

artists & fleas

handmade items and vintage collections from local artists on one end of the market. my favorite things.

the highline.

originally train tracks, this long raised park ended up being the cherry on top of a good day in the west side for me. these are probably some of my favorite photos of the whole trip. i really loved chelsea and the meat packing district + it started to rain, so i loved it even more.

DAY 9

washington square park

the village is so youthful and artistic to take a stroll through. i am so mad at myself because i did not take a lot of photos of amazing stuff i saw, like local shops and even a dog day care. but i have my memories and little anecdotes, and that makes me happy to have.

DAY 10

central park

before leaving nyc for london, i decided to spend my last day in the calmest manmade place the city as to offer: central park. i literally spent my whole day there and did not get bored, because there is so much to see and admire. and i may or may not have spent hours just staring at the turtles in turtle pond.

i hope you enjoyed my little nyc adventures and the photos i took to accompany this post. i was sooo lucky to have been able to experience everything i saw. i really really spoiled myself and went anywhere i wanted with my sister. i cannot wait to go again!

thanks for stopping by! <3

P.S:

my tips for you, if you do go to nyc:

·  check out love taza’s nyc guides. i did a ton of things she suggested and my experience was amazing.

·  google maps is your best friend!

·  pay attention to the streets. they’re not that hard to decipher, but they’re easy to get lost in.

·  go in smaller groups. you’ll be able to get tables faster. or, make reservations beforehand! i did that with almost every place i went to just because i’m inpatient.

·  don’t be afraid to take the subway! there’s mta apps and websites you can check to know which route to take in realtime. i used this website since my phone wasn’t letting me download the app.

·  try the least to look like tourist! walk with confidence, like you know exactly where you’re going even if you’re lost! see how others do it and imitate. also, walk everywhere.

·  don’t make a strict schedule – that’s boring, and you won’t see nyc like a true new yorker! just have an idea of places you can/want to go. before arriving, i made a google drive doc i shared with my sister that had places we could go depending what area we were in or decided to visit. it included attractions and restaurants with address and business hours. it was very helpful during the planning process, and when we didn’t know what to do next in this great big city, we could just pull up the document and decide.

·  getting lost is not a bad thing! don’t worry. learn to keep your cool and look at your phone for directions.

·  take many, many photos. sometimes i was shy to pull out my camera or phone and snap a photo, but i look back at that now as silly. just do it. you’ll regret not taking it.

have fun & be safe! <3

mexico city – may 2017

hello, since a long time ago! i know its august and this post says may, but i have some photos from trips i’ve been wanting to share with you here.

after the spring semester ended, the boyfriend and i got on a plane and spent the weekend in mexico city for the graduation of our friend macarena. we love that city so much, so when she mentioned her graduation and invited us, it was the perfect excuse for a getaway too. david worked, so we couldn’t stay for many days, unfortunately, but our time there was just perfect either way.

we rented an airbnb (for the first time!) downtown and lovedddd it.

we stumbled upon this food festival where almost every country went to present their traditional dishes. it was amazing! unfortunately, we had just eaten so we didn’t try much even if we wanted to try everything! i tried little things like samosas, baklava, and natural drinks. david tried the beers.

we also went to the soumaya museum. it was founded by the richest man in mexico and top billionaire of the world for his late wife, and it is free and open to the public, displaying their art collection.

the graduations in mexico are very different to those in the states. it’s like prom, but with your family and alcohol.

if you’re reading this, macarena, congratulations again on this badass achievement. <3

i had more photos on my camera, but i lost the memory card :( why do they have to be so tiny and me so forgetful!

this was a perfect weekend. if you ever get the chance, please please please visit mexico city. it is amazing and beautiful. i have way more posts on this city here in my blog if you’d like to explore.

i hope you enjoyed this little post highlighting our weekend. :) i also went to nyc, london, and scotland, so if you’d like to see those, stay tuned! :D

p.s: if you’d like to check out airbnb, here is a coupon from me to you :)!

my favorite vegetarian quesadilla – recipe

I have to admit it: I am 22 and I really don’t know how to cook a lot of things. this become more obvious to me last week when my family left for spring break to mexico and i stayed behind. finding three meals (or sometimes two, if i woke up really late) to eat during the day was kind of challenging. most days cereal was my breakfast and i can’t remember what i would eat for dinner..

one of the things i do know how to make–and i really love making!– is poblano pepper quesadillas. they’re flavorful, colorful, and vegetarian! and i mean, they have cheese. who doesn’t love cheese? (if you wanted to make it full-on vegan, you can substitute the cheese with something else and the flour tortilla for a corn flour one!) also, if you prepare it well, you can get away with only using one pan.

if you’re like me, then this recipe is for you.. and nope! it’s not spicy. don’t worry. btw, i don’t really have specific measurements. i just eyeball everything, and you should too to your liking.

FOR 1 QUESADILLA YOU WILL NEED:

  • a poblano pepper
  • 2 flour tortillas
  • oaxaca cheese (aka melting cheese)
  • corn
  • black beans

also, save the plastic bag the peppers came in. if not, get a ziploc bag big enough to fit them.

STEP 1:

Broil the peppers. If you have a gas stove, put them directly on the fire. I have an electric stove, so I had to put them in a pan. They will make popping sounds, but don’t worry, everything is good. Make sure to turn them so they broil on all sides.

They’re ready when they’re mostly burnt and the skin already peeling off in some areas. Place them in the bag I mentioned earlier. Close it well, set aside, and let it sit for 10 minutes.

STEP 2

While the steam does its magic, shred the cheese. Oaxaca cheese is so easy to pull apart. Make whatever amount feels right to you– it’s your quesadilla! This was the amount I used for two.

STEP 3

Once you’re done or 10 minutes have passed, take the peppers out of the bag, and start taking off their skin. If you were patient and waited a good amount of time, it will be super easy to take the skin right off.

Once its off, cut the pepper open, take out the membrane and seeds. Cut into little pieces–strips or squares.

Prepare your corn and black beans.

looks delicious so far! getting there..

now the fun part!

STEP 4

Get your pan on low/med heat, cook (is that the correct word?) one of your tortillas. When you get to the second one, turn the heat a little bit down and cook only one side of your tortilla. Flip it and bam, act fast:

put a layer of cheese, poblano peppers, corn, and beans:

Put another layer of cheese on top to attach the first tortilla you cooked. Make sure you have cheese on the sides too, so it acts as glue to seal everything in. Put the first tortilla on top. If you want to be extra-awesome, you can flip it. I always fail, so I don’t do it, haha. Put it on your plate, garnish some of the left over veggies on top, & YOU’RE DONE!

Yay! Please make it, it’s so good and easy! Perfect for meatless Monday! You can add any other things you want to make it yours.

Enjoy! Happy Wednesday!

happy birthday, Jimmy!

Hi, everybody! I wanted to start writing here again; I miss it so much. I said I was gonna start writing at the beginning of the year, but bam, it’s now mid February already!

Anyway, what better way to make a come back on my little corner of the internet than to show you the celebration we did for my dog’s 6th birthday. We love Jimmy so much. He was a bit crazy the first years, but now he’s more calm and is so friendly. We put up decorations, got him a cake, and sang him happy birthday.

img_2199 img_2201 img_2178 img_2235

I think his favorite part was jumping to reach the balloons we hung from the tree– especially that red one!

img_2210 img_2204 img_2198 img_2197 img_2177

img_2159

We got him a cake from a local barkery, June Bug’s Barkery (get it? dog bakery, but they bark so bark-ery, hah!)

img_2249 img_2277

We tried to snap a photo of him next to his cake, but he went in for a bite before my sister could even put it down! At least he liked it!

If you didn’t know, I have a lot of dogs (six, to be exact), and I tend to foster some for a wonderful organization, pets alive laredo. My dogs were guests at Jimmy’s paw-ty, so I decided to photograph them too.

Meet: Cake the mini poodle, Angie the chihuahua, Tallulah the chi-weenie, Max the pug, and Franklin the french bulldog.

img_2136 img_2148 img_2138 img_2149

I just adopted Franklin last month. He’s 5, kinda blindy, and so chunky. I got to take this photo of him eating his cake. It was so funny! His crooked teeth and a big piece of cake!

img_2308

I hope you enjoyed this post. I loved that my family is as crazy as me about animals and went along with his party.

I promise to keep uploading more posts. I already have some in mind! Feel free to follow my blog to keep seeing my four-legged babies and my adventures (that aren’t all that adventurous, haha). I’m also going to start sharing more about me, since I sometimes feel I just started this blog, but people from the internet who aren’t close to me don’t really know who I am. Also, a lot of things in my life happened recently, so I wanna talk about those too, briefly.

For now, have a very nice Tuesday!! <3

–diana

we were talking and eating pizza.

we were talking about the space between us all, and the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion. never glimpse the truth, then it’s far too late when they pass away.

img_8374

we were talking about the love we all could share. when we find it, to try our best to hold it there with our love.

img_8369

with our love we could save the world. if they only knew..

img_8371

we were talking about the love that’s gone so cold. and the people who gain the world and lose their soul. they don’t know. they can’t see. are you one of them?

img_8370

when you’ve seen beyond yourself then you may find peace of mind is waiting there.

img_8372

and the time will come when you see we’re all one, and life flows on within you and without you.

img_8385img_8377 img_8381

strong words by the beatles. but they kind of fit the sort of thing we need right now in this world, don’t you think? coming together, understanding each other, engaging in conversation, having a delicious pizza cuz why not. no, but seriously. november has been kind of rough, but with love and unity we can do anything.

p.s. thank you for always letting me take pictures of your faces, david and didi.

a happy list, by didi

Wow, I hadn’t shared much here lately. I always do this. I never like it. And I don’t do it on purpose. I just sometimes don’t know what to write or when to post things. I don’t want to post things for the heck of it. I want them to come naturally, you know? But I’m back and excited to write and share little adventures.

Anyway, I hope you are all well. I am here today to share with you guys a happy list that my very close friend Daniela (we call her Didi) wrote. Here are

10 things that make didi happy:

· the smell of books, both old and new.

· when people play with my hair.

· rollercoasters.

· cold days that are perfect for hot chocolate.

· writing. i love to write fiction stories.

· to be waken up by my dogs.

· playing the ukulele.

· spending time with my friends.

· watching silly cartoons, because one is never too old for cartoons.

· listening to music. mostly music that makes me want to dance.

I love these lists. They make my day. If you would like to share a list of things that make you happy, send it to me and I will post it here.

I hope you have an amazing day. I have more posts lined up that I would love to share and hopefully you will love to read. Thanks for stopping by! And thank you, didi, for your happy list. <3

happy birthday

…to the man i love the most. my best friend, david.

img_1914-1

i was planning on writing something original and meaningful to explain to you how much you mean to me. but i couldn’t find words that illustrated just that. i also didn’t know where to begin. we have a lot of history. just know that i love you always– even when i’m grumpy.

and i wrote this in my blog because i am still that silly teen you met years ago that loves you and likes to scream from the rooftops how much she does and how happy she is to be by your side.

te quiero flaco,

diana + the piggies.

a happy list, by daniella

hi friends! i hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and if you’re in the US i hope you enjoy your labor day! we’re having a little bit of rain so I decided to share a happy list my friend daniella wrote, since it fits this weather. so calm.

i met daniella in high school, and she’s one of the few people i’ve kept up with. she is so fun to be around. she’s also really understanding. whenever i have something on my mind, i go to her because she listens and doesn’t judge. in fact, most of the time we agree on a lot of things.

we could all use a happy list once in a while. so, here are…

10 things that make daniella happy:

10. Any Lush product in existence.

9. Beautiful music. Any kind.

8. Beautiful souls. Old souls. Wise souls.

7. Pictures. You cannot remember all the little moments. They trigger a memory and take you to that moment in time.

6. Tolerance. It’s something we, as a whole, need to work on.

5. Sincerity. Especially from strangers. It shows their character.

4. My grandma and crazy mexican family. It truly is like a novela.

3. Marijuana. For medicinal purposes.

2. Reading. Poetry, Novels, Anything. Nothing is more calming than a good book.

1. My relentless tenacity. My life with severe depression and anxiety feels hopeless sometimes. But I’ve somehow never stopped fighting.

thumbnail_image1.jpg

these happy lists series are making me just that – happy!

if you would like to share things that make you happy, send me an email.

thanks for stopping by! and thanks for sharing daniella; love you girl. <3

primero de septiembre

this september started so well. I know we are in the third day, but so far it has been fun. on the first day, I went to my botany class laboratory in the morning and looked at slides under the microscope – which I love to do. it is probably one of my favorite things to do in school. you get a hands on learning experience and get to see things in a different light. truly magnificent.

at night, david & I got ready and headed to an art gallery downtown that was displaying local photographers’ work. and it featured a photo I took when i went to india back in january. since the airline had lost my luggage, i was forced to take photos with my iphone (and wear the same outfit many many times). I was disappointed that I went to a place I always dreamt of going and not have my camera with me to capture such vibrant colors and amazing people. but, after seeing this photo displayed like that, it made me proud to still get good shots with what I had in hand. and it also made me proud that i survived in another continent with not many things at hand!

here are some photos of our day, which turned out to be pretty random yet perfect.

THE GALLERY

IMG_8120 IMG_8126 IMG_8121 IMG_8136 IMG_8127IMG_8118 copy IMG_8124 IMG_8125 IMG_8133 IMG_8137

as beautiful as the gallery was, we honestly felt a little bit out place. it was our first time ever going to an event there (so that itself was a little nerve-wracking), and it was full of fancy people and hipsters of all kinds. not that that is a bad thing, cuz they were all so nice, but it is just weird to be in among a different crowd, y’know? being the new kid in school, the outsider kinda feeling.

THE CONCERT

we only stayed for a bit and then left. we couldn’t decide what to do, but there was a concert in town of a man whose music I LOVE: leon larregui! so we called my friend didi who lived nearby, asked her “what are you doing? do you want to go to a concert right now?” she said yes (without even knowing who’s concert it was) and joined us. friends who agree to going anywhere with you in heartbeat are priceless.

IMG_0814 IMG_0815 IMG_0818 IMG_0822

I still can’t believe I got to see the man who created the music I listen to almost daily. he’s amazing, I swear.

THE FANCY DINNER

then..we got a little hungry and since it was late we just decided to go cheap and eat mcdonald’s. (i know, we’re always eating there! oops!) i made didi pose (more like randomly screaming, “Don’t move!”) for a few shots. I just enjoy photographing other people so much, especially in a candid manner if possible.

IMG_8141 IMG_8154 IMG_8158 IMG_8162 IMG_8163

hurray for cameras with wifi that let you take photos with your phone!

THE BEDS WE SLEEP IN

then we went to didi’s apartment, played with her dogs molly & zelda, and slept over.

IMG_8177 IMG_8180 IMG_8185 IMG_8194 IMG_8195 IMG_8200IMG_8198

THE NEXT DAY

the next day, we went to the gallery again because they were selling local artisanal crafts. this time it was more welcoming and friendly. I bought handmade soap and a crotched donut!! then, we bought wings, went to didi’s place, ate while watching bob’s burgers, and slept over once more.

IMG_8206

two very good days for the beginning of this month.

PHOTOS TAKEN WITH MY CANON EOS 6D, WITH A 50MM F/1.8 LENS. AND WITH MY IPHONE 6S.

mexico city, through the eyes of my diana mini

last month david, my family and I traveled to mexico city. i only took two 35mm film cameras: my diana mini and my canon sureshot telemax. i always go to mexico city because i love it so much, so i feel i am always taking the same photos over and over with my phone or camera. i wanted to change it up a little bit. i was really excited to develop my film because i swore i got good shots. the scenery looked promising at the time I took the photos. however, when i got my prints back, i wasn’t too amazed by them. i hadn’t used my diana mini in a long time that i had forgotten things about it. also, because i was being cheap and wanted to save $2 on film, i decided to purchase 200ISO film. bad idea. diana mini works best with 400 and 800. i guess this served as a lesson!

i’m not in love with the photos, but after seeing them again, I’m starting to like them. they bring back good memories – and that’s really important to me. hence why i’m sharing them and why i have this blog: for memories.

this was david’s first time traveling with my family. i am so glad we got the chance to do it because he got to know my uncle’s family and how my family is outside the typical “hello/how are you/goodbye” scenarios when he comes to my home. we went to the city specifically to take my devout grandmother to the basilica because she wanted to pray and thank the virgin for everything she did and is doing for us. it was her first time on plane, so yay abuela!

p.s: this is my first time uploading photos to my blog from flickr. not sure how i feel about it.. probably won’t be doing that again.

family brunch for my birthday <3

IMG_1161 IMG_1164 IMG_1166 IMG_1167 IMG_1168 IMG_1169 IMG_1170 IMG_1171 IMG_1172

not that it is my birthday today, but I recently found a memory card I had lost, so I recuperated lots of images and they included these from april. I am so glad I found them. it was one of the first times I was trying out the canon 6d with the 50 mm lens. I’m in love! I didn’t even edit these photos since I got so excited finding them.

Nothing like family + pancakes for a good day!

I know it looks like such a typical American breakfast, but I’m Mexican, so we don’t usually have that. If I’m gonna get spoiled like that, mind as well be for my birthday, right?

anyway friends, I hope you’re having a really good day!

—diana
p.s: I’m so hungry and those photos are making it worse!

p.s.s: I loved capturing my family in such a candid and warm way. such a shame my sisters were at school and couldn’t join us.

a happy list, by esteban

last time i shared a list of things that made me happy since i felt kind of down. i asked my friends and you guys if anyone would be interested in sharing things that make them happy.

my friend esteban has been really close to me since high school. he is a science, book, movie, and music enthusiast, and shares all of those things + his art in his instagram. today he is sharing with us 10 things that make him happy. enjoy!

10 things that make esteban happy:

  1. my girlfriend. she makes me smile a lot. she sees me for who i am: really weird, and strange, and full of crazy ideas. and, surprisingly, that doesn’t scare her or push her away.
  2. my family. they’re very funny. they make me laugh everyday. and we always talk about alien life forms–more than jesus probably (sorry, mom!).
  3. i like books. and tea. i love reading with iced tea. i love that books take me to places i cannot go.
  4. i like reading with my girlfriend. and she drinks tea while reading, as well.
  5. my favorite couple in the world: my friends david and diana. we’ve been friends since high school, and i know they’ll always be there for me. david is a badass musician and a badass nerd. and diana is the best friend you could ever have. every time we meet we go for burgers or pizza from peter pipers or wings.
  6. watching movies by myself. if i watch movies with people, i then watch them on my own.
  7. food makes me really happy.
  8. I’m happy that I don’t give a sh*t what people think about me.
  9. listening to albums. i’m not a one song kind of person. if i invest in music, i listen to the whole thing the artist created. it’s like buying a book and only reading a few chapters. like picking a chapter in the middle and reading that. i judge music by looking at the complete piece.
  10. i like to spend time on my own. and think about points one through nine.

you can send me an email with your list at

just put everything together, and i will share it on my blog. :)

david finally did something he has been wanting to do since he got his jeep six years ago– take the top off! he said it was really hard to do, especially since it is a really heavy piece.

i’m so happy he did it though! i was scared to drive in it, but it feels so awesome. your hair goes all over the place, but who cares. it’s part of the fun! i can just picture us in the beach with this beauty or on a road trip.

thankfully it was cloudy, so we didn’t have the sun hitting our faces and burning our skin. this texas heat does not forgive.

anyway friends, how has your summer been so far? any interesting little adventures?

p.s: i’ve never been much into filters, but i’m kind of getting into them lately. they made these photos interesting. what do you think? maybe i’ll use them a little bit more. maybe.

have a good one!

yes, we know mcdonald’s is the worst thing you can do for your body.

and yes, we know there are tastier things out there for the same price.

but honestly, we were really craving a quarter pounder..

don’t judge.

so we went and got one after my little sister’s dance recital,

right after picking up this cute guinea pig, amy.

she’s the last piggy i’m rescuing. i love, love, love waking up every day to healthy and happy adopted piggies, but i already have my hands full.

it kinda makes me sad, cuz part of me (the animal lover) wants to go out there and rescue every guinea pig in need of a home, but the other part of me (the reasonable part) is like stop, you can’t anymore.

oh well.

i’m grateful for the ones i have and that i am able to sustain them.

i’m also grateful for runs to random restaurants with my boyfriend to satisfy our cravings.

did i mention i love him? i do.

this one and another one of my recent posts included burgers. oops. can you tell i love them too?

how is your weekend so far, friends? :)

btw: i changed my blog’s layout, what you do think? i’m really liking it!

it was a quick, one day trip to san antonio and to austin that we did last weekend. we did more than the stuff pictured, but i wanted to share these photos since i thought they looked pretty neat.

we were offered two spray cans to graffiti, but we declined. i kind of do feel bad for painting over other artist’s art. people come here and spend hours working on a master piece and by the next day it is gone. what you’re seeing is probably covered by now. everyone paints what they want. i guess that’s what also keeps the park interesting. you never know what you’re gonna find.

we also may or may not have spent 2 hours searching through lego pieces to build a star wars millennium falcon, and we also may or may not have eaten chick-fil-a twice in a week.. oops.

anyway, i hope you’re having a nice day! thanks for stopping by!

a happy list

one of my favorite bloggers, Love Taza, used to do these type of posts all the time in her blog. I really liked reading them, so I wanted to do one for myself today since I feel I kinda need it.

10 things that make me happy:

  • my guinea pigs.
  • having green hair.
  • being blessed enough to have a family and a man who love me very much.
  • seeing old men getting together in mcdonalds to drink a coffee.
  • when people talk about things they are passionate about.
  • that feeling after waking up from an afternoon nap.
  • living in a world with delicious food.
  • reading blogs.
  • waking up next to david.
  • when my dogs snore.

what are 10 things that make you happy? it can be anything!

send me an email with 10 things that make you happy and I will share them on my blog!

then the next day go on a mini road trip with someone special.

or, well, this is what i did after my chemistry and statistic final this past friday.

everything was just perfect.

how’s your day? :)

a silly wish list.

i honestly just have a couple of bucks under my name, if anything, at the moment. hence this post. a post about cool things i’ve seen around the web that i honestly don’t have a need for (or money for), but would be cool to own. why does it always happen that anytime i find something neat i am out of money? ugh. a girl can dream, right?

anyway, here’s my current silly wish list accompanied by cute illustrations/photos:

jeffree star’s velour liquid lipsticks + others

but they’re always sold out..

anything by lomography

i love the surprise of not knowing how your photo will turn out until you develop it. i also really love the effects plastic cameras give your images; light leaks and vignetters take my heart. even if some people don’t like them.

headphones

because my guinea pig ate my last ones and i really miss them… damn you little robyn! (who i can’t stay mad at)

glasses

ok, these i do need. my current ones are broken and scratched. but i always hear stories of people spending upwards of $700 on glasses + exams and it scares me..

an automatic ball launcher for my dog

kind of silly (but then again, this is a silly wish list) because my golden retriever probably gets bored in our backyard and deserves it for being awesome..

paper shoot

a camera made out of paper. simple!

buuut, i know myself. once i get paid, that money will be spent on my guinea pigs, ha! oh well, i’d rather see them happy and well fed than me with yet another camera that i just want for my collection or more lipsticks that i’ll probably use just once.

what things are on your silly wish list at the moment? things that you want just for the fun of? let me know!

have a very nice day :)

–diana

p.s: creators (those that i found) of the illustrations are tagged on them.

apparently google photos turned my photos into gifs.

IMAG8104-ANIMATIONIMAG8901-ANIMATIONIMAG2036-ANIMATION

i’m not even mad. they look pretty cool. (i hope you can see them in action).

(1) a trip my zoology class had to our environmental science center

(2) napoleón and i

(3) thanksgiving with my goddaughter

____

do you use google photos? i don’t really trust it, but it keeps some of my old photos there.

i’m a little obsessed with sending gifs to my friends, so seeing these made my day.

happy thursday, almost friday friends!! hang in there!

this is a really late post.

more than a month later, really.

oops. that was my fault. i had the intention of uploading this earlier,

but things out of my control happened.

i really did miss writing to you, my friends;

sharing my adventures and reading yours.

anyway,

boyfriend and i drove to corpus christi during the week of final exams.

(some of our friends said we were crazy for doing so. but we didn’t care. we loved it.)

it was kind of a quick, well-deserved break.

we picked up some legos from craigslist;

adopted a guinea pig who seriously needed a new forever home (named him Moose because of his long snout);

and went to the lexington (well, the outside of it and the beach surrounding it) since david had never seen it.

i love showing him new things. it’s that amazed face he makes. like a kid in a toy store, but cuter.

i live for adventures like this with him.<3

i made my first little video diary, too, if you want to see it:

thanks for stopping by friends, i appreciate it!

see you soon..

The story of Roger the Cardinal, and how we rescued him.

April 12, 2016

12 p.m

One day before my birthday.

I was walking around campus when I hear a bird screeching horribly. I looked around and saw that two black birds were attacking this little red thing with all of their might, and slamming it against the floor. At first I thought it was a leaf they were playing with since they were ganging up on it like nothing.
I’m a huge animal lover, so I had to stop and scare the black birds away from him (and it took a bit to do so) who were on top of this little red bird. I was careful to approach him. He was so scared. I know birds carry diseases and all of that. I didn’t care. This bird was in shock and in pain with his little skull exposed. I was careful. He let me carry him and I took him to david who had just gotten out of class so he would see him. Google confirmed that this beautiful being was a Cardinal.

12994397_10207856599764326_2586063070493112192_n
he just stared at me after I found him.

I didn’t know what to do or who to call. So, I called my mom. Then my vet, and took him to her. They are gonna take care of him and see if they can save him and then set him free. I would keep him, of course, but it is illegal to keep Cardinals and he’s used to being free, so that wasn’t an option.

12998670_10207856601684374_322781344698601502_n
in the car, on our way to the vet. holding him for protection.

Later that day I called the vet and her staff told me that, unfortunately, he had passed away. David, I, my mother, grandmother, and the friends we told this story to were really sad. I kinda wanted to cry. They couldn’t believe Roger– as we named him– had let me carry him. Neither could I, really. I am glad I met this little buddy even if it was for a little bit.
I’m sharing this story because even if we have a super busy schedule, we should still stop and help others. Even if that other is a little red bird. Like everyone, I do have papers due and I was late to work but I still took this little guy in to get the help he needed. People walked by him and didn’t stop. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened to him. So friends, look around, be attentive, and lend a helping hand. There’s no excuse.

Have a nice day friends.

bringing lucy and charlie home

March 31, 2016

I never look at craigslist. If anything I look at it maybe twice a year. I don’t know; I just don’t really need anything from there and am too shy to make business with people in that platform. I’m probably not the only one, right?

For some reason, I decided to check craigslist for guinea pigs. I love animals, especially those little creatures. On october I lost my very first guinea pig, Napoleón. Then earlier in march, I had lost my other guinea pig, Linda. I was devastated. I had another guinea pig home, Tomás. I had to remain active and happy for him.

So, I check craigslist, type in guinea pigs in my area, and see that there are two ads for girl guinea pigs being sold. One guinea pig was a year old and the other was just a baby. It infuriated me to read the ad’s description; something along the lines of “I don’t want her,” “I can’t take care of her,” “Don’t have time,” etc. It got me so mad. Why get a small animal if you can’t take care of him/her!? For the baby guinea pig, it said that its owner had gotten her from petco and had been with her for two weeks and no longer wanted her, so she tried to return her and they said no. Hence her ad. Here I am crying because I lost my two BELOVED guinea pigs, and here’s a girl getting tired of hers after just two weeks. Ridiculous. I felt the need to save these little two babies.

IMG_5147 IMG_5177

Meet Charlotte and Lucy! Aren’t they beautiful!?

I, essentially, bought them. I thought my family and boyfriend were going to say that I shouldn’t, that maybe I was being impulsive. But, no! They completely supported me. My mom even helped me pay for both of them. Bless her. She has a huge heart. So, I texted the girls who owned these two piggies and got them that same day.

They look so happy and love their brother Tomás. They have each other’s company even if they fight. For me, it’s endless cuddles and cute faces! Huge reward. I love learning more about them and their personalities.

I am, since, constantly checking for any other guinea pigs in my area in need of rescue. I just hear so many horrible stories about pets being abandoned. It’s so sad.

By the way, this is a picture of Tomás. He’s so big now!

Thanks for stopping by, friends.

I appreciate it. :)

DIY: How to hang pictures with thread and clothespins

I take a lot of pictures. There is nothing I love more than looking at them printed. Old ones, new ones, ones I took, ones I didn’t take, 4x6s, instax minis, square, anything! I hate it when they are locked inside a drawer; I just want to display all of them cuz I feel they’re all so pretty and special.

However, with the very little space I have in my room it can be tricky mounting things on my wall. Frames are too chunky and sometimes expensive; I really don’t want to puncture my photos with a thumbtack; and even when I put fun-tak or tape, they fold or fall. Thanks to several ideas on the internet, I finally found a great solution to that problem!

There are many ways to make this, but since this is what I had at hand, this is how I did mine. You should do yours with what you have in hand, too! If you don’t have clothespins, improvise! Use paperclips! Etc.

You can also purchase these already made online. Here are some I found in Urban Outfitters. I don’t know about you, but I find it a little ridiculous to waste almost $15 on something I can make for less than $5!

These have not failed me. I just keep adding more to my room. They are a great focal point and a way to brighten up your bedroom and display awesome memories. My walls always remain interesting since I keep moving and replacing photos. Also, this method doesn’t damage your walls, in case you’re renting an apartment where they, for some reason, don’t let you drill holes on the walls, or if you just don’t want to. Or if you know you get bored with things rapidly, you can always transfer these to another wall (or take them off altogether) very easily.

Enjoy!!

a weekend in mexico city with the boyfriend

hello friends! if you read my blog, you’ll notice that my family and i often go to mexico city. we just love it. i don’t know, something about that place is special..

during spring break, boyfriend invited me to go with him, his dad, and brother. i think it’s the first time david and i travel by plane together elsewhere. we are lucky to have had the chance to do so. it was so much fun. here are some pictures of our trip in case you’re interested. as always, i appreciate you taking the time to read my posts! :)

the good and bad of life lately..

how are you!? I’ve missed you, my wordpress friends! feels so good to be writing to you again. (i mean, my last post was less than 20 days ago, but it feels longer!)

as the title suggests, i have a couple of good and bad news to share with you..

the good:

  • david and I went to mexico city for the weekend of spring break.
  • it was so neat to be in a city i really enjoy with someone i really love.
  • we went to museums and the pyramids.

the bad:

  • while we were over there, i got a call from my mother saying Linda, my beloved 3 year old guinea pig, had passed away.
  • we don’t know what happened or why she died. it was a shock for all us. my mother especially, since she’s the one who found her.
  • i think that since david and i were in a big city with his family, we weren’t able to cry or digest her death properly. we had to hide our emotions in front of everyone and keep going.
  • when we got back home, we buried her next to her brother, napoleón, who also left us this past october.

positivity:

  • if linda was sick or if she suffered, anything, she is free of it and she is now with her brother, and they are both happily eating cilantro in piggy heaven. –– at least that’s what i tell myself.
  • I planted flowers around their little tombs and they’re already raising from the ground. other plants i also have are blooming too. –– makes me happy
  • i still have one more piggy with me, and since he’s a baby he needs a lot of attention and activities. –– so i also have to keep going cuz of him.
  • life is still good. god is great. everything happens for a reason. my guinea pigs and i have people who love us and we love them. ♥

File_000 (10)

we will miss you terribly linda.

anyway friends, i guess i just wanted to write this to have a little post in honor of Linda, since this is a space i truly love. more lifestyle, diy, travel posts coming your way pretty soon. sorry this is a little bit of a sad post, i just needed to write about this since a lot of people don’t understand how losing a  four-legged loved one is also a horrible feeling.

are you well? i hope so.

love you guys.

thanks for sticking around.

ideas: outdoor dinner and a movie

hello!

I love hosting little dinners here and there with my friends. (this is one we had back in november, if you’re interested.) but since we’re all away in different cities for college, it becomes a little hard to get together. soo, a girl can dream and plan an affair as such in none other than good ol’ pinterest!

here are some pictures i found. if i found the blog owner i tagged them because it ain’t cool to just steal pics, and if i didn’t tag anyone it was because i saw the same picture 20 times around pinterest and didn’t know who it belonged to. so yeah, enjoy!

my hair is blue-emerald-green!

I wanted my hair blue for a while, but whenever I told someone I wanted that color they would give me the “you’re crazy” look, so it unmotivated me. Then I found an emerald green on pinterest, fell in love, got my parent’s approval, showed it to my hair stylist, and he worked his magic.

moments after // a week after // yesterday

I need to retouch it soon. But I am so happy!

I have blue, green-blue, and purple in my hair. Yay! My guy left my natural root since it was growing, so there’s also my brown hair in the mix. I was scared the green wouldn’t show, but nope, it’s there!

Do it yourself: Water bottle pots!

The first thing I saw when I started getting into gardening was the cost of good-looking pots: pricy! The more I got into it, the more I realized how creative gardeners were. They use anything – and I mean anything – at hand to plant seeds. Recycling is their forte. And, if you like gardening or want to get into it, I believe it should be yours too. You gotta get creative to save money!

I’ve seen people use cans, soda bottles, egg cartons, egg shells, ice cream tubs, bath tubs, old toilets, tires, shoes, wine bottles, and the list goes on and on, as planters!

If you read my previous blog post you saw that I used bottles of water to make pots for my seeds. So today I bring you this tutorial on how to make them. I would take planters looking like this any day – especially since they are recycled! – instead of those plain o’ black pots! Plus, the retain moisture which is perfect!

Enjoy!

valentine’s day

Instax - Jan-Feb 2016 15 Instax - Jan-Feb 2016 5

I don’t really like Valentine’s Day. I don’t have anything against it; it’s just not my thing or David’s, so we just don’t celebrate it. Yesterday consisted of being outside his garage, talking in the moonlight, with frequent visits of his neighbor’s dog, drinking sprite, taking pictures, a lot of hugging and when-we-get-married talk. I loved it. I love him. Possibly my favorite Valentine’s Day so far. How was yours?

This year has been pretty good so far. Can’t wait to see what else it has in store.

2015 was good to me too. I lost people, I met people. I probably cried more times than I laughed, if I must be honest. But I treasure it. It taught me a lot of things, especially to not stress over the little things and that everything happens for a reason. Two very important things to remember in this life.

Anyway, friends. I hope you have a very good Monday night. Cherish every moment you can!!

your friend,

spring veggie planting + a new member of the family!

My friend sent me a message the second day of February saying, “Happy Candlelight Day and Happy Start of the Spring Planting Season!” Quite honestly I was like, “Oh really? That’s today?!” – me being oblivious of time and all. Throughout the day I couldn’t wait to get home and plant. But, I didn’t cuz of school. However, a week ago I finally did! I planted onions, cilantro, tomatoes, chiles, melon, and a beet.

IMG_2258

Today, I woke up and saw this:

I was worried they wouldn’t grow, but ah, I’m so happy they did! I used to keep them inside, but since the afternoons have gotten warmer, they are now outdoors. I think they enjoy it.

Beauties!

Back in November/December I had planted two bell pepper plants, a tomato, an onion, cilantro, and even tulips! This is how they look today:

Two tulips!

My cilantro looks a little bit like a hot mess in the previous photo, but in person it is so beautiful and smells delicious! My guinea pigs LOVE it!

Speaking of guinea pigs.. meet the newest member of our family:

tomás!

Isn’t he an adorable guinea pig?! He’s very active and loves attention. I can’t wait to make memories with him and his sister, Linda, for the years to come. I’m sure Napoleón, my first guinea pig who left my side this past October, would have liked his company as well.

One last thing before I go: did you notice my recycled water bottle pots? If you liked them and want to make some for yourself, here is my tutorial on how to do them!

Thanks for stopping by friends!

I love my little tattoo.

I love to look at it.

I love to touch it.

I love the meaning behind it.

I love it when it peeks through my long sleeve shirts and I see the top of it.

I love when people see it.

I love to talk about it.

I love that it makes me happy.

I, strangely, love remembering the discomfort I felt as it was being permanently marked on me.

I have other tattoo ideas I might get in the future.

But for now, I love my two little tattoos; my wrist one and my ear one.

Proud of him!

Not very long ago I go into gardening. It is hobby many of my close family members enjoy. The first herb I planted back in October was cilantro. It is now huge and beautiful. I now have that, a beautiful tomato plant, two red bell pepper plants, and a white onion. :)

My boyfriend got interested in plants too so I helped him plant some cilantro seeds. We planted them in Novemeber but they sadly never bloomed.

Last week he decided to dump the dirty from the pot I lent him, since he was convinced his cilantro never grew.

BUT, when he was about to reach the pot, he saw that two cilantro plants had risen from the ground!!

I’m so proud of you boyfriend! Happy to see you happy. :)

Oh nature, you are amazing. Maybe a little lazy, haha. But amazing nonetheless!

Moral of the story: Have hope my friends!

And, have an amazing day!

Hello friends! Finally, I share photos from my trip to India. As the title suggests, I was there for twenty days. I went with other students from my university and a professor on a history course. I learned so many things I did not know before. It was an amazing, amazing experience, and I can’t wait to go back. India stole my heart.

My parents still don’t know, but the airline lost my luggage when I was getting to India. Thus, I was without my suitcase the entire trip. I didn’t have a carry on, so the only clothes  had were those that I had on. I had to share clothes with my roommate (bless her heart for being so nice) and I had to shop for under garments. When I came back home, it was in the airport waiting for me. It didn’t even make it to India. It went to London and back. Lucky all of my stuff was in there intact. I almost cried since I always heard horror stories of people stealing your things. This misfortune taught me I can survive with very little clothes for so many days, anywhere I am in the world. I guess some good came out of it.

My favorite places in no order: The Golden Temple, Mumbai, Kabini, White Rann Desert. A lot of people think the Taj Mahal is going to be the most amazing thing India, but that is not the case. It is amazing, don’t get me wrong. But it SO FULL of people that you almost don’t enjoy it. There are many other places in India that can be 10x more mesmerizing. If you’re thinking about going, GO! We went with a company named CEPA and it was the best.

These photos were taken with my iPhone 6s.

Have an amazing day friends!

If you have any other questions let me know! :)

mi primer tatuaje

(my first tattoo)

A lot of people don’t like tattoos. My parents are included among those people. They don’t have anything against people who have them; they don’t look at them differently; they just don’t like tattoos. And that’s fine. I, on the other hand, went to school with people who were fond of them. Thus, I grew an appreciation toward them, regardless of all the negative things circulating the world of tattoos. I’m not gonna explain what tattoos mean to me. Everyone has their own definition and it is theirs to keep. Same thing with the meaning behind tattoos. Some people don’t even have meanings for their tattoos; just reasons. I am not advocating or pushing for anyone to get them either. It is your body. What I am gonna say is: if you are thinking about getting one, please do be cautious and think about it long and hard. Don’t be impulsive. Research.

MFT1

I got two:

I usually don’t put watermarks in my pictures, but people tend to steal tattoo photos quite often, so.

It hurt a little. Not much. I am so happy with the results.

Happy Wednesday friends!

hello friends

I feel distant from my blog. I haven’t posted anything since over a month ago. I promised myself I wasn’t gonna let that happen but it did. Maybe my New Years resolution (since I didn’t have any) can be to post often. I enjoy doing so and enjoy reading your blogs, and I hope you enjoy reading my content as well.

Little updates in my life:

I just came back from my trip to India!

I started a new semester in school.

Hmm.. I think that’s it. Apparently my life is not as interesting as I thought, haha. That’s alright. :)

Anyway, how are you doing friends?! How is this new year treating ya so far?

I will be posting photos, stories, and tips from my trip in case you guys are interested :)

For now, here is my outfit for today. Kind of silly but I feel so comfortable in this windy day.

Have an amazing day friends. Happy Friday!

something better than a dance flashmob // plus star wars!

Just wanted to take a quick second to show you this awesome video I found while in Facebook! It’s of a town in Mexico that borders where I live.

The city’s youth orchestra surprised the public in a shopping mall with a flashmob, only that this wasn’t a dance! (I’m tired of those, aren’t you?) In lieu of its soon release (6 days to be precise!) they played the Star Wars theme song. HYPE!!

Click here to see the video in Facebook!

(I tried to embed it but wordpress didn’t let me. Sorry folks. You can still watch it even if you don’t have a Facebook. But I’m pretty sure everyone has now nowadays. Wait, my mom doesn’t have one.. Ok, maybe not everyone! But yeah!)

That video made me so happy! It helps as a distraction for those having a bad day and it is something different for our community that promotes a wonderful thing: MUSIC! And let’s not forget, Star Wars!! (Sorry, I’m just so excited with all of the promotions for this movie).

Enjoy!

austin, san marcos, a gig, and food.

hiya friends! how’ve you been? i hope well :) this past monday boyfriend, his band, and i went to austin because they had a gig. i really like that city. it’s so youthful, has delightful architecture, and the people i’ve talked to have been so nice. oh, and its motto is “keep austin weird” which is..interesting, haha.

here are some photos from our trip, accompanied with a few transitions like those in Frasier. well maybe not as clever, but i tried! (please tell me you understand that reference?! brownie points if you do!)

WHEN IN AN IRISH PUB…ORDER WATER AND WINGS?

IMG_9579IMG_9577

the boys love a good beer, but this time we didn’t order any; just three orders of wings and two potato soups. THEY WERE SO GOOD! we couldn’t finish all of them though. too many.

it’s the second time the boys play here. as always, it was a good show.

I still ask myself why I didn’t apply for this university.. it looks challenging, yet amazing.

after the show we somehow got hungry again and boys decided to give this restaurant, Big Bite, a try. they serve these big sandwiches with multiple things in them. david and i shared one that had chicken strips, french fries, and mozzarella sticks, all drenched in buffalo sauce and ranch. yes, that sounds, and is, extremely fatty, but that combination was tasty! total college food.

we slept over at our friend’s apartment in a little town – that by the way is so cute! – about 30 minutes from the capital. (oh, and she owns a chinchilla named mango! how cool is that?) we ventured downtown, got smoothie king, shopped in a store full of cool knickknacks, and ate tacos. (gosh, we sure do eat a lot..)

does my writing transpire the excitement i felt? pardon my thoughts being out of order and my constant use of exclamation marks and sophomoric adjectives. these were two fun days!

what have you been up to friends? :) boyfriend and i are up to our neck in finals. it’s not fun. if you, too, are in finals, we understand your pain and are here cheering for ya! be safe, be well, have a little fun! and have a very good day.

I am going to India.

I am studying abroad and taking a class during the winter break.

I have mixed emotions.

I was beyond excited after receiving my “Congratulations! You’ve been accepted!” letter.

As the date approaches, part of me has been like “WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME!? WHAT DID I DO?!”

Another part of me cannot believe I am going to the other side of the world. It makes me feel kind of brave.

The girly part of me wants to shop for clothes before departing, if I must be honest.

But overall, I am proud of myself for going to all of those department heads and asking for signatures, for facing the dean, and for submitting my application– regardless of what everyone told me about the food, the culture, the diseases, the dangers, the multiple “You’re crazy,” the “You don’t know what you’re talking about,”  and the sweet “You’ll get the worst diarrhea of your life!” from my sincere coworker.

I don’t care. I’ve always wanted to go. It’s a once in a life time chance and I took it.

I leave in twenty days for twenty days.

Is that too much info to put out in the internet? Oh well, I am happy!

burger king.

Instant Dinner

tonight we ran around town looking for a place to eat. we wanted tacos, but all the good, authentic mexican food places were already closed. we probably spent an hour searching. guess where we ended up eating: burger king.

we then ran back home to turn in homework that was due midnight.

my sister took this picture of us in front of the christmas tree before we left. too bad it didn’t come out :\ maybe next time!

i really love this man and our little adventures.

now we’re off to bed. goodnight!

p.s: this is my 100th blog post. yay!

diana & david try: Calbee’s Snapea Crisps in Wasabi Ranch

hey friends! i hope you’re doing well :)

so the other day david and I went to 7eleven and found these:

IMG_9054

since I am trying to eat healthier, and since I’ve seen that the internet has been a little obsessed with edamame lately, I decided to purchase them. after trying them, david and i gave our verdict. we find pleasure in trying and describing things we’ve never had before. it’s like a fun little game between us. so, we have decided to start this new section called “diana & david try:” to introduce new foods to our palate. and to have fun of course :) we hope you enjoy it, and if you have any suggestions, send them our way. it can be anything. well maybe not anything, haha. but if it’s reasonable and in our reach we promise to try it!

today we are tried Calbee’s Snapea Crisps in Wasabi Ranch!

IMG_9070  IMG_9058

ingredients and nutritional facts here.

these are supposed to be healthier alternative to chips. they are baked and contain 70% whole peas. I read reviews and a lot of people in Amazon love this product (so much they buy it in boxes!). David and I…well, here’s what we think:

IMG_9066  IMG_9065

b o t t o m  l i n e:

did we like them? no.

what did he think? flavorless // crunchy // really good garlic scent – like the bread from Olive Garden.

what did i think? still have unpleasant taste in mouth, even after eating pizza // weird smell // little spicy kick at times // couldn’t taste the ranch flavor

we… think the packaging is neat // liked the fact that chip was shaped like a pea // felt bad for throwing them away so they’re still there //

would we give this brand another try? in another flavor, yes. well at least me, hah.

would we purchase this specific item again? nope! come back to us, fatty chips<3

why we’re bad judges: david and I don’t like snap peas or wasabi or ranch. :(

should you try it? you should! it’s good to try new things.

:)

don’t forget to leave more suggestions below.

love you guys. thanks you for your time. have a very nice day:)

thanksgiving break trip and one photo booth strip

Urban Outfitters Photo booth with david and ddboyfriend and i went with our friend didi to san antonio for a day. they went to fix their iphones in this big outdoors shopping mall and I accompanied them. didi took her yorkie, molly, who behaved so well and is so cute!

we stopped by urban outfitters; david to look at records, didi to shop for plaid shirts, and I to look at their cameras. i had been to the store several times before and i never noticed they had a photo booth. the last time i remember taking pictures in a photo booth was when i was in elementary school – i know! yeears ago! how lame is that! so when david offered i didn’t hesitate. we both ran in and snapped the first two photos. on the third one didi came in after finding us.

awesome photo booth strip :) kinda wished we would’ve gotten one more strip with more of didi, and maybe molly..

we drove back to our little town at night after having free donuts in krispy kream. did you know that when their sign is on it means free donuts?! david and i did not!! oh those warm donuts <3

after that we had thanksgiving with our families and then we met up with old friends (click here to see photos of that day).

this post is a little late, but how was your thanksgiving? and how has your week been so far? i hope you have a nice day :)
