i honestly just have a couple of bucks under my name, if anything, at the moment. hence this post. a post about cool things i’ve seen around the web that i honestly don’t have a need for (or money for), but would be cool to own. why does it always happen that anytime i find something neat i am out of money? ugh. a girl can dream, right?
anyway, here’s my current silly wish list accompanied by cute illustrations/photos:
i love the surprise of not knowing how your photo will turn out until you develop it. i also really love the effects plastic cameras give your images; light leaks and vignetters take my heart. even if some people don’t like them.
because my guinea pig ate my last ones and i really miss them… damn you little robyn! (who i can’t stay mad at)
ok, these i do need. my current ones are broken and scratched. but i always hear stories of people spending upwards of $700 on glasses + exams and it scares me..
kind of silly (but then again, this is a silly wish list) because my golden retriever probably gets bored in our backyard and deserves it for being awesome..
a camera made out of paper. simple!
buuut, i know myself. once i get paid, that money will be spent on my guinea pigs, ha! oh well, i’d rather see them happy and well fed than me with yet another camera that i just want for my collection or more lipsticks that i’ll probably use just once.
what things are on your silly wish list at the moment? things that you want just for the fun of? let me know!
have a very nice day :)
p.s: creators (those that i found) of the illustrations are tagged on them.
I don’t really like Valentine’s Day. I don’t have anything against it; it’s just not my thing or David’s, so we just don’t celebrate it. Yesterday consisted of being outside his garage, talking in the moonlight, with frequent visits of his neighbor’s dog, drinking sprite, taking pictures, a lot of hugging and when-we-get-married talk. I loved it. I love him. Possibly my favorite Valentine’s Day so far. How was yours?
This year has been pretty good so far. Can’t wait to see what else it has in store.
2015 was good to me too. I lost people, I met people. I probably cried more times than I laughed, if I must be honest. But I treasure it. It taught me a lot of things, especially to not stress over the little things and that everything happens for a reason. Two very important things to remember in this life.
Anyway, friends. I hope you have a very good Monday night. Cherish every moment you can!!
my grandfather was really fond of photography. he lived from march 1932 to this past june; 83 strong years. to this day my family and I are still discovering pictures he had stashed in different briefcases, bags, and folders from many years ago; some only his eyes had seen. we’ve also found several cameras that not even my grandma knew he owned. she said he would buy a camera and hide it from her because she would get mad at him for purchasing yet another camera. oh, grandpa. i get you. i, too, am obsessed with different cameras.
grandma’s recent discovery were a few photos which she believes are from the 50s, meaning my grandfather was in his early twenties when these were taken. it makes me happy to be able to see what he saw when he was about the same age as I am today.
these two photos above are from a bridge that was placed temporarily after a massive flood destroyed the actual bridge that united the mexican-american border on our town.
you don’t know how grateful i am that he took these photos. they are amazing. they give me an opportunity to picture what it would’ve been like to live in those times. it’s almost like experiencing it. thank you so much grandpa.
i told myself i was gonna post these photos every five days to have enough for the whole 30 days in september. but i’ve been bad about it :( school has been getting tougher and tougher. this week, for example, i have tests and reports almost daily. it’s horrible, but i’m surviving! i miss writing for my little blog though. so today i took a little time to bring you something i was supposed to post saturday. (oops). not that i am forced or anything, but i love doing so, and writing this + reading your blog posts makes me happy and gives a break from writing reports and memorizing things i’ll probably forget next week, sadly. so, without further ado, the second week of my september photo challenge! :)
DAY 6 – AFTER DARK
DAY 7 – SOMEONE THAT INSPIRES YOU
DAY 8 – ROUTINE
DAY 9 – SOMEONE YOU LOVE
DAY 10 – CHILDHOOD MEMORY
photo challenge i’m following here (although i changed most of it to make it my own). pictures from my boyfriend’s iphone and my white diana mini.
ok, they’re not really polaroids polaroids but I don’t know how else to call them other than “instax mini” or “instant pictures” which I kind of don’t like :( Polaroids sound cuter! :)
Here are some, pretty random ones, my sister took with her camera. First four are in Mexico City and the next six are in Puebla, where one night we just took pictures of each other and went out for smoothies and coffee with our parents.
I love my family. They’re weird and cool and like eating tacos.
more pictures of our cool trip to mexico city here, and pictures of puebla here.
1. Boyfriend and I get dressed and go see the opening of our local theater production of The Graduate. – Amazing acting! We really, really enjoyed it.
2. Afterwards we pass by the bowling alley. We think about how fun it would be to go there. We do. He turns the car around and we bowl. We get our shoes and our names are Linda and Napo for the rest of the evening. He won. I think..
3. We got hungry. We went to Whataburger. I had pancakes, he had a bacon burger.
4. He drove me home. We talked for while outside my house in his Jeep, as we usually do.
5. We go to sleep in our own beds, in each’s home, wishing we could just live together and still be together for the rest of the night.
Oh, how I really wish these would have come out perfect. Not blurry like they are, cuz this was a really fun day. Getting together with old friends, eating wings, watching a horror movie, swimming in a really hot day with a pug by your side… I mean, really, is there anything better in the summer? I think not.
(some photos by me, some photos by my beautiful friend, doris.)
ps: I don’t think Max liked the pool, but it did help him cool off on this very sunny day.
I just developed a bunch of film (7 rolls to be exact) dating back to May. I want to share some of my favorite pictures with you because, I don’t know, I really like them and this is my little corner of the world and having pictures makes me happy. and i hope it makes you happy as well :)
oh! also, we went on vacation and I have a few pictures to share from our trip there, too :)
