my hair is blue-emerald-green!

I wanted my hair blue for a while, but whenever I told someone I wanted that color they would give me the “you’re crazy” look, so it unmotivated me. Then I found an emerald green on pinterest, fell in love, got my parent’s approval, showed it to my hair stylist, and he worked his magic.

I need to retouch it soon. But I am so happy!

I have blue, green-blue, and purple in my hair. Yay! My guy left my natural root since it was growing, so there’s also my brown hair in the mix. I was scared the green wouldn’t show, but nope, it’s there!

I cut my own hair!

after watching several ponderous videos on YouTube (half of one that appeared on my What To Watch, actually) on how to self-cut hair, I was curious about the idea of cutting mine. I’ve been wanting to get a hair cut for a while now. I just haven’t gone. no reason. maybe just that I’m lazy to go to the salon and get it cut?
well, laziness aside, yesterday night around 1 am I got the crazies, my sowing scissors, and chopped off 4 fingers all around!
It’s not the first time I get impulses to cut my hair. I always cut my bangs whenever I feel like it. (even if my hair dresser gets mad at me for doing so.) in January I actually went back to bangs I hadn’t styled since elementary school (post here) and they didn’t turn out bad!
in july I dyed it red myself with the help of my sister and a L’Oreal hair dye box, after getting the idea from a blogger (easily-influenced, me). I loved it despite of the damage it did to my hair and the mess it created in my restroom.
but this is different! I’ve never cut my entire hair :o it looks the same, almost, just with more layers in the bottom.
i’m happy though. bye damaged ends!! and yay for saving money!
wait til I tell my mom. she’ll freak! :D

happy tuesday! — diana

p.s. – i want pancakes so bad! maybe i can used the money i saved on going to the salon to get some…hmm ;)

milkmaid braids

Braids are usually all the rage during the summer time, or honestly anytime. I can only do certain types of braids on myself, other types of braids on other people, and some I just cannot master because either I confuse which piece of hair goes next or my arms tell me I should work out because they are not strong enough and get tired and shake and it’s becomes a mess just to keep my hair up..

But today I did it! I wore milkmaid braids!

Not that I hadn’t mastered how to do this look before – because quite honestly it’s not hard and I had – but I finally wore it out in public. And yes, I did get stares because it’s not common and it might look a little dorky from an angle, but I really don’t care, I loved how they looked. It made me feel like I was a lady in those old paintings. <3

We were out of town and waiting in line and it was hot that I just decided to braid my hair and it transformed into that. BEST DECISION EVER! If you know how to do a basic braid, have bobbie pins around, and want to look like your hairdo took longer to make than it did, DO THIS! I did this with second-day hair. No shame! And with no mirror, other than the reflection my mother’s glasses gave. So see, you can do it too.

It’s easy. I got the idea from one of my favorite bloggers, Love Taza, who constantly rocks these! Here is a tutorial she made on how to do them.

Basically you make two braids, one on each side of your head, tie the ends with a hair tie, cross them on top of your head to the opposite side, and pin them down. That’s it.

TA-DA! Easy. I wore my bangs during the day but later at night I pushed them back between my braids to have my forehead free.

Style it however you want and wear whatever you wish. If you like something, rock it!

If you try it, let me know!
